As the voting commences in Egypt, signaling the potential for President Sisi's third term, the political landscape brims with anticipation.

Meanwhile, in the aftermath of the July 26 coup, ECOWAS has wielded economic and financial sanctions against Niger. Omar Alieu Touray, the President of the Ecowas Commission, has laid out the conditions for lifting these sanctions.

In a strategic move, the authority pledges a gradual easing of sanctions on Niger. However, Touray sternly warns that the CNSP must align with the outcomes of their engagement with the committee.

Failing compliance would compel ECOWAS to uphold all sanctions, even resorting to the use of force. Furthermore, they stand ready to mobilize the African Union and other stakeholders to enforce targeted measures against members of the CMSP and their affiliates, emphasizing the gravity of the situation.
