In a recent directive aimed at enhancing transparency and accountability in government payroll management, President John Mahama's administration has mandated all heads of government institutions to submit detailed information on employees added to their payrolls since December 7, 2024.

The Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, issued this directive, emphasizing its importance in maintaining the integrity of government payroll records.

Institutions are required to provide the following details for each new staff member:

Full Name

Designation/Job Title

Employee Identification Number (if applicable)

Date of Appointment

Date Added to Payroll

The deadline for submission is January 31, 2025. This initiative is part of broader efforts to eliminate inefficiencies and potential discrepancies within the public sector payroll system.

The directive underscores the administration's commitment to fiscal responsibility and the effective utilization of public funds. By ensuring that all payroll entries are legitimate and properly documented, the government aims to prevent financial leakages and uphold the trust of its citizens.

All government institutions are urged to comply promptly with this directive to facilitate a comprehensive audit and maintain the integrity of the public payroll system.
