Afua Asantewaa Aduonum poured her heart and soul into chasing a Guinness World Record for the longest solo singing marathon. But, sadly, her incredible journey hit a roadblock when she was disqualified. The news came through a heartfelt message shared on social media by the Guinness World Records team.
In their post, they expressed genuine sorrow that Asantewaa's attempt didn't quite meet the mark. Yet, they also sent words of encouragement, urging her to keep pursuing her dreams of breaking records.
Their message read, "We're truly sorry to announce that Afua's attempt at the longest singing marathon didn't make it this time. But we're rooting for her to give it another shot soon. Her journey has been incredibly inspiring for her fans." They also revealed that she had requested special treatment for the evidence check process, which was already underway.
Despite her plea, her attempt fell short, leading to a refund of her payment earlier in the month. "We'd already started the evidence check before Afua asked for priority service, so we refunded her payment. We're wishing her all the luck in the world for her future record attempts," the statement concluded with warmth and empathy.
