The surprise twist? Jones has garnered five Grammy nominations for her November 2022 album, "What I Didn't Tell You."


Jones, up for Best New Artist, R&B Album, Traditional R&B Performance, R&B Song, and R&B Performance, reflects on her newfound success. In a recent interview, she delves into the profound influence of black women in Hollywood on her career, expressing gratitude to trailblazers like Viola Davis, Kerry Washington, Angela Bassett, and Taraji.


Addressing issues of pay disparity and colorism, Jones advocates for change, emphasizing the importance of speaking out. "Everything can and will get better," she asserts, urging patience on the unique journey Black women navigate in the industry.


Reflecting on her Grammy nods, Jones admits to being pleasantly surprised. "I definitely didn’t think, 'How far could this go?'" she confesses. Her focus remains on presenting the most fearless version of herself, leaving expectations behind.
