Shamima Muslim appointed Deputy Presidential Spokesperson...

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Shamima Muslim as Deputy Presidential Spokesperson, effective January 21, 2025. 


Shamima Muslim is a seasoned broadcaster, gender advocate, and development communicator. She is the Founder and Convener of the Alliance for Women in Media Africa (AWMA), an NGO dedicated to enhancing the visibility and impact of women in the media. Her career highlights include moderating Ghana’s 2012 Vice-Presidential Debate and representing Ghana in President Obama’s Young African Leaders Initiative in 2010. 


In her new role, she will work closely with Acting Presidential Spokesperson Felix Kwakye Ofosu to manage the President's communications. 
This appointment is part of a broader strategy to enhance governance and operational efficiency within the Presidency. Other notable appointments include Seth Emmanuel Terkper as Presidential Adviser on the Economy and Stanislav Xoese Dogbe as Deputy Chief of Staff (Operations).
