The Arthur L. Carter Journalism Institute at New York University offers the Global Journalist Fellowship, providing support to international journalists enrolling in graduate programs in journalism. The fellowship covers various programs, each lasting three or four semesters:


- Business and Economic Reporting

- Cultural Reporting and Criticism

- Global and Joint Program Studies

- Literary Reportage

- Magazine and Digital Storytelling

- News and Documentary

- Podcasting and Audio Reportage

- Reporting the Nation and New York

- Science, Health and Environmental Reporting

- Studio 20: Digital First


Eligibility Requirements:

Candidates must:

- Hold a non-U.S. passport

- Be fluent in English and at least one additional language

- Have significant journalism experience (corporate communications, public relations, and student publications do not qualify)

- Possess a four-year undergraduate degree or a three-year undergraduate degree plus one year of graduate work

- Complete applications for both the fellowship and admission to the M.A. program in Journalism

- GRE exam not required

- TOEFL or IELTS required unless English was the language of instruction in the applicant’s degree program


Benefit:

The 2024 Fellowship covers tuition and registration fees for two of the three or four semesters. The fellow will receive a stipend of approximately $16,000 for each of the two fellowship semesters.
