Acumen Academy, known as the world's school for social reform, offers an exceptional opportunity through the West Africa Acumen Fellowship. This program equips emerging leaders with the knowledge and tools rooted in community and moral leadership practices. It empowers individuals from around the world to create solutions to poverty-related challenges.


Program Overview


The West Africa Acumen Fellowship is an intensive leadership program that brings together exceptional individuals dedicated to addressing poverty issues. It provides them with a supportive community, knowledge, and skills to advance their leadership abilities and scale their initiatives, ultimately driving significant change in West Africa. Upon program completion, Fellow Candidates become part of The Foundry, a network of like-minded individuals working across industries and regions to create a world founded on dignity. As part of this multicultural group, they gain access to funding, mentoring, and lifelong learning to support their social change efforts.


Eligibility


The Fellowship is open to "builders" who are actively addressing poverty-related issues. Builders can include intrapreneurs from the corporate or government sector, as well as founders, CEOs, and senior leaders in for-profit, nonprofit, or hybrid social enterprises. What truly matters is the impact you've made and the solutions you're creating. Eligible applicants should have at least five years of professional experience and a commitment to poverty alleviation. They should also be willing to contribute their knowledge, experiences, networks, and ideas to The Foundry.


Applicants should be proficient in English, have a reliable internet connection, and be available for the entire program. The impact of their work should be concentrated in West Africa, particularly in priority countries such as Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Liberia, and the Gambia. Applicants must also be residents of the continent.

The Curriculum


The program is designed to accommodate individuals who continue to work. It spans six months and includes five seminars, online group and individual assignments, and high-level overviews of the curriculum. These include virtual immersions, in-person immersive programs, virtual workshops, and seminar locations typically near major cities in the program region.


Application Process


- Submit your application online by December 10, 2023.

- Attend the Selection Conference on February 9th and 10th, 2024.

- Start your Fellowship Experience on February 26, 2024.
